Male victim ID’d in Auxvasse double homicide and fire

AUXVASSE — Callaway County Sheriff Dennis Crane said the male victim in the double homicide and fire Friday was positively identified via dental records Tuesday afternoon.

As suspected by officials, he said the first body recovered from the debris of the home on County Road 1027 has been confirmed to be that of Michael Wieberg, 56 — owner of the property. The second victim is believed to be his daughter, 33-year-old Amanda Wieberg, who was supposed to be visiting at the time of the incident. As of Tuesday night, the second body had not been positively identified.

While they await positive identification for the female victim, Crane said the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office continues to pursue leads as well as make plans to form a multi-jurisdictional task force.
