MOKANE - The state-ranked South Callaway Bulldogs moved swiftly in making sure there was no suspense on senior night.
Oh, and by the way, South Callaway landed its second straight Class 2, District 9 championship and booked its fourth consecutive trip to the state playoffs.
Senior quarterback Konrad Kemper ran for two touchdowns and also threw for a pair of scores - all coming in the first half - as No. 9 South Callaway breezed past Hermann 52-0 to easily claim the District 9 title Thursday night.
The Bulldogs' defense forced three first-half turnovers, one leading to a score, and their special-teams unit blocked two punts during that span to set up two touchdowns.
South Callaway (9-1, 3-0) will get to open the playoffs with a home game for the second year in a row. The Bulldogs host the District 10 runner-up - most likely (O'Fallon) Christian - in a Class 2 sectional at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
