United Way Business Campaign begins Monday with sweepstakes

On Monday members of the Callaway County United Way will begin their annual Business Campaign to seek contributions to the United Way.

The push is designed to emphasize the need for participation by businesses and their employees in the annual United Way fund-raising campaign to raise $260,000.

Volunteers will be calling on local businesses and ask them to help support the work of the Callaway County United Way.

"Every year, businesses in Callaway County make a huge difference in whether we make our goal," said Peg Dzicek, who heads the United Way's Community Impact Committee.

"This year," Dzicek said, "everyone has the added incentive of the Live United Sweepstakes."

Local businesses have donated several prizes for the sweepstakes effort as part of the Business Campaign.

Prize donations to the sweepstakes include a Toshiba laptop computer, a $100 Walmart gift card, a $100 Phillips 66 gas card, two $100 C&R Market gift cards, and a $100 Sault's Drug Store gift card.

To help the tornado-stricken people of Dumas and surroundings, donations can be made to the Delta Area Disaster Relief Fund, care of the Delta Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 894, Dumas, AR, 71639, or through the Arkansas Community Foundation, 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR, 72202.
