AUXVASSE — During the Kingdom Telephone Company’s annual open house on Friday, hundreds of customers saw a demonstration of a high-definition television service that will be available throughout the firm’s service area.
Marla McCowan, Kingdom Telephone financial officer, said starting early next year the Auxvasse-based telephone firm will for the first time offer television service over its telephone lines.
McCowan said the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service will be through Skitter TV, a IPTV firm based in Atlanta, Ga.
The television service will be known as Kingdom Skitter TV. McCowan said customers will be able to watch high-definition television using DSL telephone broadband lines.
