Closing two Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) maintenance facilities in Callaway County and similar cost reductions statewide allowed $177 million to be spent on Missouri road and bridge improvements, MoDOT Director Kevin Keith said Wednesday.
Keith said as of Sept. 30, MoDOT budget cuts have eliminated 667 staff positions, closed 23 facilities, and disposed of 245 pieces of equipment.
