Fulton man to face statutory rape, child molestation charges

A Fulton man was arrested Tuesday on multiple counts of statutory rape and other charges.

James A. Brashear

According to a release from the Fulton Police Department, James A. Brashear, 30, of Fulton, was taken to Callaway County Jail on Tuesday morning on a $100,000 bond.

Brashear faces charges of two counts of first-degree statutory rape, one count of second-degree statutory rape, and one count each of deviate sexual assault and second-degree child molestation.

Lt. Andre Cook, of the FPD, said Brashear’s arrest was the result of an investigation that began earlier this month when several victims came forward. Cook said it’s possible there could be more victims coming forward as the investigation is ongoing, but it’s too soon to tell.
