Senior guard Robert Williams was perfect from the field in the first half and only missed three shots overall in the Owls 83-66 win over Central Bible College on Saturday afternoon. Williams was one of five William Woods players in double figures on the day, improving the team to 4-3 overall.
Williams was 5-of-5 in the first half, scoring 13 of his team-high 15 points in the game’s first 20 minutes in helping jump out to a 51-34 lead at the break. Junior guard Logan Decker chipped in 13 points and sophomore guard Dontre Jenkins scored 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting. The Owls shot 56 percent as a team on the day.
Sophomore guard Jonathon Nutt added 11 points and junior forward Roy McElroy scored 10 points and pulled down five rebounrds. William Woods got a game-high six rebounds from senior forward Andrew Millers. Central Baptist College guard Mason Horsley poured in a game-high 20 points.
The Owls hosted Principia College on Monday but scores were not available.
