NoCal school district’s audit checks out

— The North Callaway School District received a clean bill of health on its audit Thursday evening.

Jim McGinnis, with the accounting firm Gerdig, Korte & Chitwood, went over the audit Thursday at the North Callaway Board of Education meeting held at Williamsburg Elementary School. McGinnis told board members he received full cooperation from administration during the audit, and the district’s budget was “in complete compliance with state regulations.”

Following standard procedure, the district is waiting on a letter of clearance from its attorney until the audit can be finalized and approved.

In other business, Superintendent Bryan Thomsen reported to the board that there will soon be a Strategic Planning Committee in place. Thomsen explained that the committee will be formed to determine what direction the district should take in the next five years. He said with the bond project wrapping up, it’s time to look ahead.
