Second-half run spurs Owls’ win over Eagles

The William Woods University Owls took control with a 14-6 run early in the second half of Wednesday night’s 71-60 win over Central Methodist University at Anderson Arena.

The game was tied 30-30 at halftime, but Central Methodist scored the first basket of the second half to briefly go in front. William Woods University answered with its pivotal run, opening up a 44-36 advantage with less than 14 minutes to play.

Senior forward Daniel Armah logged a double-double, finishing with game-highs of 24 points and 13 rebounds to pace the Owls (2-1). Armah — who was 11-of-16 from the field — led four players in double figures for William Woods, which overcame 25 turnovers.
