Toy Run set Sunday to benefit SERVE

An informal group of local motorcyclists will gather Sunday to distribute toys and food to benefit needy children during their fifth annual Callaway County Toy Run.

Participating motorcyclists will meet Sunday morning at the Firefighters Memorial at Kingdom City. They will leave at noon for a short ride through the country, stopping at the Walmart in Fulton for anyone in the group needing to purchase a toy or a food item to donate.

The group then will travel to the Thirsty Hog restaurant on Missouri NN south of Fulton where they will meet with SERVE, Inc. representatives to deliver toys for SERVE's Adopt a Family Christmas project.

The riders also will donate food for SERVE's food pantry.

"The motorcyclists do a fantastic job every year," said Julie Roark, director of SERVE's Callaway Action Network.

To help the tornado-stricken people of Dumas and surroundings, donations can be made to the Delta Area Disaster Relief Fund, care of the Delta Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 894, Dumas, AR, 71639, or through the Arkansas Community Foundation, 700 S. Rock St., Little Rock, AR, 72202.
