The Westminster College Lady Blue Jays volleyball team will have a fresh scouting report for its conference tournament opener this weekend.
Webster University secured the top seed for Saturday’s St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference final four with its 25-21, 25-20 and 25-21 triumph over host Westminster on Tuesday night. The Lady Gorloks (17-12, 14-2 SLIAC) — earning a share of their eighth conference title — will meet up again with the fourth-seeded Lady Blue Jays in the first SLIAC semifinal at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Louis.
No. 2 seed Greenville (Ill.) College then squares off against No. 3 Principia (Ill.) College in the second semifinal at 4. The winners advance to play at 7 p.m. for the conference tournament title and an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III national tournament.
Freshman middle hitter Gracey Moon logged 14 kills Tuesday night to pace Westminster (13-18, 8-8), while sophomore setter Elle Kiely tallied 25 assists.
The Lady Blue Jays finish the regular season with a non-conference match against Stephens College in Columbia at 7 tonight.
