Animal control panel to revise impound fees

Fees the city’s animal shelter is charging for impounded animals are not sufficient to cover costs, the mayor’s animal control task force learned Thursday.

Meeting every Thursday for the last six weeks, the special panel appointed by Fulton Mayor LeRoy Benton is drafting an extensive revision of the city’s animal control ordinance.

The study group includes city council members, animal control officials, police, dog rescue, and Humane Society representatives.
