Wildcats’ Class 2 quarterfinal moved back to today

The New Bloomfield Wildcats’ Class 2 baseball quarterfinal against visiting Elsberry, which was rained out Wednesday, has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. today.

New Bloomfield (17-4) advanced with a 12-2 rout of Brentwood in a sectional game Tuesday in St. Louis. Elsberry (14-7) reached the quarterfinals with a 9-0 victory over Schuyler County in sectional play Tuesday.

Tonight’s winner moves on to the Class 2 final four June 1-2 at Meador Park in Springfield. The New Bloomfield-Elsberry winner will face either Charleston (15-9) or Valle Catholic (22-5) in a Class 2 semifinal at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1.
