As the Callaway County YMCA works to get its new community garden project off the ground, it is seeking local residents with green thumbs - or at least who aspire to have green thumbs - to help establish the garden.
With sites at the YMCA on Wood Street and next to the Fulton Fire Department on Westminster Avenue, Callaway Y Executive Director Patty Miller said they still are in need of interested community members to plant and work the plots.
"People can now come in and sign up for a site - they can pick which site and what size plot they want," Miller said, noting the two locations are slated to be tilled and ready for planting soon. "We're hoping to try to start assigning plots by May 11."
