Fulton man charged with bank robbery

The U.S. Attorney said a Fulton man was charged in federal court Thursday with robbing the Sun Security Bank in Weaubleau, Mo.

Edward Lee Cooke, 59, of Fulton, was charged in a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Jefferson City.

Thursday's criminal complaint alleges that Cooke stole $7,847 from the bank on Wednesday.

According to an affidavit filed in support of the complaint, Cooke entered Sun Security Bank, 404 E. Hwy. 54, in Weaubleau, at approximately 8:41 a.m. Cooke allegedly walked toward two employees, who were seated at a desk in the bank's lobby, and said, "This is a robbery."
