Mexico woman recovers from stroke, ready to strut in Fulton 5K

Diane Maxwell set a goal last fall to walk in a 5K. This Saturday, she is going to walk the 5K during the Fulton Street Fair.

An admirable, commendable undertaking but not a big deal on the surface. But it becomes more remarkable when looking a little deeper. Maxwell, a payroll clerk at Mexico Plastics, went to the doctor in July 2010 thinking she just caught a bad flu, maybe a really bad case of the flu.

It turns out that Maxwell had a stroke. From there, her life - an active one that she felt was "in a rut" prior to the occurrence - became something entirely different.
