Weekend sees serious accidents

Two Fulton residents were injured seriously during weekend accidents in Callaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Addie Kathy Kronk, 59, a Fulton Realtor, suffered two broken ankles and other injuries in a head-on collision at 5:10 p.m. Friday just west of Millersburg.

The patrol reported the accident occurred when a 2010 Mercedes driven westbound on Route WW by Dr. Matiul Islam, 68, Columbia, "at a speed too fast for conditions" failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line, and hit Kronk's eastbound 2005 Chrysler head-on.

Islam's wife, 56-year-old Fetema Islam of Columbia, was a passenger in Islam's car. She suffered serious injuries and was flown by the Staff for Life helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia. Islam and his wife are former Fulton residents.
