To attract more blood donors this summer, volunteers who give blood to the American Red Cross through Sept. 5 will receive an opportunity to win a $250 gas card in a weekly drawing.
Even after thousands of people responded to a national appeal for blood donations, blood supplies in Callaway County and Central Missouri are seriously low, a Red Cross spokesman said.
