More than 200 patrons of the New Bloomfield R-3 school district jammed the district's high school cafeteria Monday evening for an informal welcoming dinner to greet David Tramel, their new school superintendent.
Gracia Backer, president of the R-3 Board of Education, said she was extremely pleased that so many residents of the district came to the event and many of them brought their children.
Backer told the group the last three years have been extremely turbulent in the district but she looks forward to working with a new administration at the school.
