LaRue steps up for new United Way role

The Callaway County United Way had been toying with the idea of an honorary campaign chair for some time. According to board president Cathi Harris, she and her colleagues were looking for a friendly face.

“We had been thinking about ways to increase the visibility of the United Way,” Harris said. “A lot of people know about it, but there’s always ways to do better.”

They didn’t have to look far. A visible face was working in the offices of one of the organization’s most trusted allies, The Callaway Bank, in Debbie LaRue. LaRue, the bank’s director of marketing and public relations, has worked closely with the United Way for many years, possessing an affable and approachable personality that Harris thought would be perfect for the role.
