Ronald L. Smith, 69, Fulton, was injured seriously Tuesday when his car hit an icy patch on Route C and overturned.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Smith was northbound on Route C in Callaway County at 8:28 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his 2003 Ford after encountering an icy patch on the roadway. Smith overcorrected, causing his vehicle to run of the west side of the roadway and overturn one time.
With serious injuries, Smith was airlifted by the Staff for Life helicopter service to University Hospital in Columbia, the patrol reported.
The vehicle was demolished and Smith was wearing his seat belt, the patrol reported.
