It is nothing new for the Fulton Public Schools district to receive a good review during its annual audit report, but the presentation of the 2010-11 audit was particularly positive.
Auditor Jim McGinnis was especially effusive in his praise of Jennifer Milligan, who is in charge of the district's payroll and accounting, and Superintendent Jacque Cowherd.
"Jennifer Milligan is really a wonderful accountant," McGinnis said when speaking about the level of cooperation from district staff. "I think she's one of the most conscientious people I've ever worked with."
He said Cowherd "did the best job any superintendent has ever done in my experience" in his preparation of the Management's Discussion and Analysis report, which is included in the audit.
"You have a really good understanding of this district's finances," McGinnis said.
He said he also was impressed with one particular department's food services," McGinnis said. "This may be the only district I serve that actually does it."
