Blown arresters lead to brief electrical outage

Lack of power causes FHS to release early

City officials attributed a brief power outage in the northeast section of Fulton Tuesday afternoon to a pair of blown arresters behind Moser’s.

“What we are guessing happened is they were cracked, and the change in weather and the rain caused them to blow, which then tripped the Kleewood circuit,” Fulton Director of Administration Bill Johnson said. “Power was out for about 27 minutes and we had a little over 400 customers without power.”

Included among those customers without power were several Fulton Public Schools buildings.

Kathy Wright, FPS director of communications, said the high school, Fulton Education Center and Bush Elementary School all were without electricity for the last bit of the school day.
