The Gift Shop, 1222 Business 54 South, has started a going-out-of-business sale. Store manager Carol David said the owners, two elderly brothers in Columbia, would consider selling the store if a buyer could be found.

Carol David, manager of The Gift Shop at 1222 Business 54 South, said Monday she learned earlier in the day that the business she manages is going out of business and is for sale.

"The store is owned by two elderly brothers from Columbia who have decided to close. We are having a going-out-of-business sale," David said.

"One of the brothers is 77 and the other is 80," David said. "If a buyer can be found, they would be willing to sell. But for now they just want to close the business."

David said The Gift Shop is not a Hallmark Gold Crown store that has more control over inventory and requires stocking more Hallmark products.
