Twelve Callaway football players chosen all-district

Callaway County is represented by a dozen players on the media's 2011 Central Missouri all-district football teams announced this past week.

The South Callaway Bulldogs - led by senior Ben Seitz, a two-way, first-team selection - landed eight players on the Class 2 all-district team. The North Callaway Thunderbirds placed three players, all first-team choices, on the Class 3 all-district squad, while the Fulton Hornets had one player make the Class 3 team.

The 5-foot-9, 145-pound Seitz was a first-team pick at wide receiver and defensive back, respectively, on the Class 2 offense and defense. Seitz was also a first-team offensive and defensive selection on the all-Mid-Missouri Conference team.

Joining Seitz on the Class 2 first-team offense from South Callaway was junior lineman Michael Payne (5-9, 165), a second-team all-MMC choice. The Bulldogs' other representative on the Class 2 first-team defense was senior linebacker Hunter Leeper (5-11, 170), a first-team all-MMC pick.
