Fire destroys Callaway residence

A fire reported at 1:30 a.m. Sunday destroyed the home of Joe and Ericka Stewart south of Fulton at the intersection of State Road H and County Road 305 in Callaway County.

Fire and heavy smoke was showing from the roof of the structure when volunteer firefighters from the Central Fire Protection District arrived. All occupants were out of the residence, according to Shelly Huff, office manager of the Central Callaway Fire Protection District.

Central District firemen were assisted by manpower and tanker support from the Fulton Fire Department, the New Bloomfield Fire Protection District and the Millersburg Fire Protection District.
