Council OKs taxi application

Fulton area residents soon will have another transportation option after the city council approved an application for Fulton Checker Cab Tuesday night.

Nobody spoke in opposition to the proposal during the open hearing regarding the application by owner Randy Taylor, although he did speak up for himself.

"I think it's a great thing for the city and look forward to providing a service," Taylor said. "Whatever the demand is, my goal is to meet it as soon as possible."

Ward 4 Councilman Steve Moore asked whether Taylor plans to have an office in Fulton.

"As demand grows, the business grows," Taylor replied, noting that if the business does grow he certainly will open an office in the city, as well as possibly hire other drivers and operate 24 hours a day.
