Auxvasse Fire Dept. receives tanker truck

AUXVASSE - A new property maintenance ordinance was unanimously passed by the Auxvasse Board of Aldermen at its Tuesday meeting.

The new ordinance combines prior nuisance and property maintenance ordinances, so the regulations are clearer and easier to enforce. The ordinance also added a section describing how property owners are responsible for mowing and maintaining the easements of their properties all the way out to the roadways.

Alderman Terry Walker reported that through a Missouri Department of Conservation program, the Auxvasse Fire Department received a tanker truck Tuesday to use for as long as the department has need of it. Walker said the tanker truck will allow firemen to have access to water when a hydrant is unavailable. He added it will also allow the department to assist the North Callaway Fire Protection District on more calls.
