A full service taxi cab service could be on its way to town sooner rather than later, if everything goes Randall Taylor's way. Taylor will present his case to establish a Checker Cab company in Fulton during a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9 in council chambers.
Taylor, an employee with the Checker Cab Company in Jefferson City for the last three years, believes the service will be much appreciated for Callaway County residents.
"It's a growing town and I think it deserves the same services the surrounding cities have," Taylor said.
Taylor feels that one of the reasons a cab company such as the one he envisions hasn't lasted is that a small town might not need a cab company that operates like a Checker Cab-type.
