The Holts Summit Police Department is looking for help in identifying a person who is portraying himself as a police officer.
According to police reports, a male approached a walker early Thursday morning in the 300 block of Perry Drive and identified himself as a police officer. The suspect asked to see the walker’s driver’s license.
The imposter is described as an older, heavy-set white male with dark hair, wearing dark-colored pants and a light blue uniform style shirt.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Callaway County Crimestoppers or the Holts Summit Police Department (573-896-4678).
If a resident has contact with an officer with the Holts Summit Police Department and has questions as to their legitimacy, all Holts Summit officers have badges with badge numbers and a department identification card that will be produced when asked.
