The metal exterior has been removed from the east side of the old Fulton Power Plant, located at the northeast corner of East 8th and Vine streets, that is being razed by Gator Demolition Co. of Joplin.
Workmen from Gator Demolition Co. of Joplin Wednesday maneuver Caterpillar 235 tracked hydraulic equipment to attach the boom to large demolition shears. The big industrial shears were trucked to the site and attached to the demolition equipment. The huge jaws of the shears will be used to cut through steel girders during the demolition of the old Fulton Power Plant.
