Two injured in weekend accidents

Two people were injured in separate single-vehicle accidents over the weekend in Callaway County.

Rachael N. Reid, 22, of Fulton, was hurt Sunday when her car ran off of Interstate 70 near Route Z.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Reid was eastbound on I-70 about .3 mile west of Route Z at 3:45 a.m. Sunday when her 2007 Chevrolet ran off the left side of the roadway and struck the median cables.

The patrol reported Reid was transported to Callaway Community Hospital with minor injuries.

Reid's vehicle sustained minor damage and she was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

A Columbia woman was injured when her car ran off Route J in Callaway County late Saturday afternoon.

The patrol reported Alice C. Jeffrey, 24, Columbia, was traveling north on Route J when she looked away from the road, causing her 2002 Ford to travel off the right side of the road. It overturned and came to rest in a ditch.

The accident occurred at 5:25 p.m. on Route J, .5 mile south of I-70. The patrol reported Jeffrey was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries.

Her car was demolished and she was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
