Meyer, Thunderbird golfers take second place at meet

BOONVILLE, Mo. - Erik Meyer shared medalist honors Thursday to direct North Callaway to a second-place finish in a four-team meet at Hail Ridge Golf Course.

Meyer carded a 42 to split medalist honors with Marceline's Mitchell Smith.

Marceline took first place with a team score of 185, followed by the Thunderbirds with a 190. Salisbury was third with a 204 and Fayette finished fourth with a 227.

Marceline also downed North Callaway by 21 strokes in junior varsity play, 193-214. Keaton Oestreich topped the Thunderbirds with a 50.

North Callaway hosts Centralia and Harrisburg at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton.
