By RYAN BOLAND
The Fulton Sun

Freshman guard Dan Anderson scored 15 points Thursday night as the William Woods University Owls ended a five-game losing streak with a 75-65 AMC win over visiting Hannibal-LaGrange College.

William Woods shot 58 percent (15-of-26) in the first half - including 64 percent (7-of-11) from 3-point range - to open up a 40-29 halftime lead at the Helen Stephens Sports Complex.

Anderson was one of four players to score in double figures for the Owls (5-17, 2-7 American Midwest Conference). Junior forward Da'kari Shelby and junior guard Zach Roling also provided 13 points apiece, while junior guard Justin Cornelius had 11.

William Woods - which committed 16 turnovers - shot 54 percent (22-of-41) for the game, including 50 percent (9-of-18) from 3-point range. Cornelius finished 3-of-4 from behind the arc, while Anderson was 2-of-5.

Cornelius and freshman forwards Lucas Dahl and Caleb Perry each grabbed six rebounds for the Owls as the teams finished in a 30-30 standoff on the boards.

William Woods plays at AMC opponent Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis at 4 p.m. Saturday.
