Baseball Blue Jays lose three to start break

Westminster College dropped three games to open play during its spring break trip to Phoenix, Ariz.
The Blue Jays (2-5) fell to Keystone College 9-6 on Saturday evening, then dropped both games of a Sunday doubleheader against Simpson College, 13-3 and 9-8.
In the first game, Keystone scored five runs in the top of the seventh to snap a 4-4 deadlock. Westminster's Mike Oliveri took the loss in relief, allowing five earned runs on three hits, three walks and a hits batsman in two innings of work.
Josh Armstrong went 2-for-4 at the plate with a single, a double, two runs and two RBI.
Westminster's Phil Walter went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI during a 13-3 loss in Sunday's opener. Cory Grewe took the loss for the Blue Jays, allowing six runs (one earned) on six hits over three innings.
The Blue Jays dropped the nightcap 9-8 when Joe Hickey - representing the tying run - was thrown out at the plate to end the game.
Jessie Jett went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Westminster's Phil Stoll took the loss, allowing six earned runs on nine hits while walking three and striking out one.
Action continued Monday when Westminster met Monmouth College of Illinois.
